Due to a reduction in donations, those seeking $200 to pay their utility bill could only receive half of what they needed from the non-profit people-helping agency.
Now, the sign is gone. It’s business as usual at the Fort Mill Care Center. “Now, we are back to the maximum of $200 for utilities,” Because a community cared and gave the FMCC donations.
“When the people in our community heard the care center was in need, they responded,”
Now, clients who are mostly unemployed due to recent layoffs, sickness or disabilities or underemployed and live in the Fort Mill Township and Indian Land areas can get the agency’s maximum utility bill assistance.
“Being able to contribute that $200 really makes a difference in their bills,” “It really means that they are not going to get further and further behind in their bills.”
Those seeking help with their utilities only can do so once every four months by going to the Fort Mill Care Center.
